ĄGuadalupe @ 5,500 cfs, July 1997!

Due to extremely high flows on the Guadalupe in May and June of 1997, Canyon Dam rose to 934' from the normal 911'. In an effort to reduce the level, the Corps of Engineers released 5,500 cfs daily from late June until mid-August. This was a rare opportunity for Texas kayakers to practice their pop-ups, enders and mystery moves at Huaco Falls.... in the summer.... and no toobers! The Following photographs are by Tom Pennington of Fort Worth, TX. Enjoy them!
