San Marcos River Cleanup
DDRC will be lending a hand to the TCRA and TRPA to help clean up the San Marcos River. We will be camping at Shady Grove Campground (FM 1979 and the river in Martindale) on Friday and Saturday nights. We will drive down and camp Friday night. The river cleanup will be Saturday starting at 8:30 AM. More details will be posted on the cleanup activities as they become available.
On Sunday, we will paddle from City Park through Rio Vista Dam and Cape Falls down to the San Marcos River Retreat before coming home. Tom Goynes charges a nominal fee of $2.00 per boater for leaving vehicles and accessing the river from his property. Considering some recent vandalism of vehicles at river crossings along the river, this is a MUCH better and safer option, as well as being far more convenient.
